DC is back in the spotlight thanks to the resounding success of Wonder Woman on the big screen. Starring Gal Gadot in the titular role, the film has become the best-reviewed DC/Warner Bros. superhero collaboration since Christopher Nolan was directing his Batman trilogy. While the movie has done a great deal to popularize arguably the most famous female superhero in comic books, it has also renewed people’s hope in the greater DC empire to get back on the right track with some entertaining content.
That doesn’t just mean movies. With luck, DC and Warner Bros. will be building on the success of Wonder Woman with some more engaging cinematic content in the coming years. In the meantime, the companies have already done a pretty good job of putting out fun games, and much of it is aimed at mobile players. Now, there’s an enthusiastic desire for Wonder Woman to get her own video game. Here are some of the ways to enjoy DC characters through your Android device while we wait.
Injustice 2
After Injustice: Gods Among Us brought a large collection of DC characters to the fighting game genre, we naturally started hoping for more. We got it with Injustice 2. This is probably the best game out there if you want to enjoy the particular aesthetic DC and Warner Bros. have worked to put together of a darker universe than what we see from Marvel. Now that the game is available for Google Play we can all enjoy it in full. The fighting mechanics feel smoother than the original game, and the cast of characters is broader and more interesting. Plus, if you’re in it because of Wonder Woman, you can also play as the Amazonian princess.
DC Character Slots
Slot gaming isn’t for everybody, but if you’re into it and you enjoy the DC comics, there are some pretty enjoyable Android gaming options. It was announced last year that NextGen Gaming would be introducing updated versions of DC-themed games, specifically regarding Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and the Flash. These games are fundamentally similar, but each one offers different themes based on the characters, as well as some fun bonus content. They’re all available for Android, and the updated Batman slot in particular is a pretty impressive experience.
DC Legends
This game has been out for a while, but it’s still worth noting as one of the most impressive DC mobile gaming opportunities. In some ways, you can think of it as the RPGs version of the Injustice games, just as some Marvel fans might recognize the mobile title Future Fight as an RPG version of Contest Of Champions (the fighting game counterpart to Injustice). At any rate, it’s a sharp game with an entertaining story mode and a lot of fun ways to collect and upgrade your favorite characters. It’s also another sign that DC knows what it’s doing in when it comes to mobile gaming.
